How to use the images on this CD

1. After you have chosen the image(s) you need, determine the image resolution that will work best for you.  This CD contains 100 images in two resolutions: high and low.   The file names are the common names so the images are easy to locate.

High resolution images are 25 MB uncompressed and 3 - 5 MB compressed.  They are located in a folder called 'high_res'.  These images are 300 dpi and are perfect for full page print use.  They can easily be used in most page layout programs.   Clipping paths are included with each image as well.  You can find more detailed information on clipping paths and selecting images by choosing those options from the navigation bar to the left.

Low resolution images are 1.44 MB uncompressed and 170 - 450 KB compressed.  They are located in a folder called 'low_res'.  These images are 72 dpi and are the appropriate resolution to use for the web or for PowerPoint® presentations.  For web use, you can open the image in Adobe Photoshop® and downsample the image to the size that you need and save the image in jpeg or gif format.  You can then import the image into your html editor to publish to the web.

2. Open the image directly from the CD or copy them to your hard drive first.  You can double click the image to open it or you can open it from within your image editing program.

3. You can use the image as it is with the built in drop shadow or you can use the clipping path to drop out the background for use in a drawing/page layout program.  The image will probably need to be saved as an EPS or TIFF file if you are using it in a drawing/page layout program.  If you use the image as it is with the built in drop shadow, delete the clipping path first.
